Our Mission

At Bickerstaff Inc., we build strong futures for at-risk youth and children of color by creating healthy habits and relationships through sports, academics, and personal development. Our weekly programs encourage academic excellence, introduce hands-on trade skills, and use athletics to teach leadership, teamwork, and discipline-not just dreams of going pro. We also support single parents, nurture mental well-being, create safe spaces in urban communities to combat the effects of gentrification and displacement for a stronger future—one child, one family, one neighborhood at a time. We believe that when youth thrive, communities flourish.

LEADERS IN THE PAINT

Where Students Become Athletes—and Athletes Become Leaders

Our mission is to teach students that their academic drive matters just as much as their hustle on the court. This program runs weekly during the school year, offering students a structured 2-hour session:

📚 1 hour of academic support and tutoring
🏀 1 hour of basketball skills training and scrimmage play

Each year, one student-athlete is selected to receive a sponsorship to attend a summer camp or athletic program of their choice, reinforcing our belief that talent deserves investment.
